Founders and History
EKG Labs was founded by Jennifer Eagan, Allen Kesselring, and Katie Grayson. All three founders spent the majority of their careers working for contract research laboratories that focused on combination product, medical device, and pharmaceutical development. They came together at Cyanta Analytical Services, a contract laboratory focusing on drug-device combination product development. Shortly after Cyanta’s acquisition in 2011, the opportunity arose for Eagan, Kesselring, and Grayson to leverage their experience in a new business endeavor and found EKG Labs. They established an analytical laboratory at the University of Missouri – St. Louis’s (UMSL’s) Innovative Technology Enterprises (ITE) center where they recently expanded their laboratories. Today, they continue to operate out of ITE and provide analytical and development services to medical device and pharmaceutical companies.
